1964 Renault Dauphine 'Gordini'. A
genuine original Gordini, which has had only 2 owners from new. This
is just like the works rally Gordinis that won the 1957 Tulip Rally,
1958 Monte Carlo rally, 1959 Alpine rally and many many others.
It is in the same light blue colour used by Renault
for the team cars.
The
first owner had the car from new in 1964 until 1985 and the
supplying dealer sticker is still visible in the rear window. The
second owner has had the car since 1985 and it has been dry stored
by him for many years.
It will
need thorough re-commissioning but the engine turns over and
everything seems to work. It has the alloy Gordini cylinder head, 4
speed gear box and disc brakes on all 4 wheels with the correct
Gordini alloy calipers.
The
interior is in superb condition with no damage whatsoever and bodily
it appears in good condition with minor scratches and bubbling. The
car is fitted with Cibie headlamps and genuine Renault full size
wheel trims.
All in
all a fantastic car for historic competition use or just to enjoy on
the road.
